We are thrilled to welcome the Borzord Family to Canton City Schools! Father Peterson Borzord, daughter Leyla Andrea (3rd grade at Belle Stone), and son Kerlens (a future Early Childhood student) join us from Haiti by way of Florida. Their native language is Haitian Creole, and they also speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese — adding to the rich cultural diversity that makes our district such a great place to learn and grow.

Also pictured is Ellen Januario, a valued member of our Family, Community, and Partner Engagement Team, who helps connect families to resources and ensure every new Bulldog feels at home.

Our partnership with SARTA allows students in grades 7–12 who are in good standing to receive a free SARTA bus pass for travel anywhere SARTA goes. Parents: Keep an eye on ParentSquare for information on how to sign your student up. This year, we’re expanding the program to include a Travel Training session, giving students hands-on experience with riding the bus, reading schedules, and navigating routes. Thanks to the McCollum Family and our amazing volunteers, we distributed more than 400 backpacks filled with school supplies to Canton City School District students. This incredible effort set our students up for success and showed the power of community support. 

Join us for Family Fun Day at The Bulldog Activity Center (located on the Timken Career Campus) on September 13th, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Games, activities, and opportunities to connect with teachers, staff, and community partners like the Canton Fire Department will make this an event you won’t want to miss. Food will be served from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Bring the whole family for a great day together!
