Here is the latest update on our return to school for 2020-21 from Superintendent Talbert

Dear families,

I would like to update you on the plan to return to school for the 2020-21 school year. As we have stated in the past, this plan continues to evolve as we strive to uphold our commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment. Due to the fact that Covid-19 cases are currently on the rise in our community and that we want to ensure that all safety measures are in place, the following changes in our start of the 2020-21 school year have been made:

August 24 remains the first day for all students including the AIM Academy, however, all CCS students will be remote through September 7. They will only come to school to pick up devices, food, and to complete necessary paperwork.

The week of August 24, all students will pick up their technology from their home buildings. Your pick-up date will be communicated to you by your building principal.

After each student receives a device, our focus will be on building relationships, and becoming familiar with the technology.

Starting on Tuesday, September 8:

All students who chose face-to-face learning will have a staggered start this week. This means our buildings will bring in smaller groups of students to allow them to learn our safety protocols. Specific staggered start days will be assigned when students pick up their devices. On days when students are not in school during the staggered start, they will be interacting with CCS teachers online participating in engaging lessons.

All students who chose the virtual option (100 percent remote learning at home) will begin lessons.

Again, it is our priority to provide safe educational options for all CCS families while our community navigates the Covid-19 pandemic. On the district end, we will implement the strictest safety guidelines developed by the CDC, the Ohio Department of Health and the Canton City Health Department. We are asking that all of our families do their part, as well, by practicing social distancing, and following the state-mandated face-covering rule.

In closing, I would like to thank you for bearing with us as we prepare for a year like no other, but I know if we continue to work together as Bulldogs, we will have a memorable and successful school year.

Thank you for your partnership,

Jeff
