McKINLEY HIGH SCHOOL AIR TESTING INFO

The McKinley High School Staff will be conducting AIR retesting beginning the week of December 9th.

We have decided to have two late start days dedicated to testing students who qualify for retesting.

Testing for ELA I & ELA II will occur on Tuesday, December 10th, and testing for Alg I and Geometry

will occur on Thursday, December 12th.

Student qualifications for retesting:

● Sophomore students will retest if: Student did not receive a 3 or above on ELA I or Alg I

● Junior students will retest if: Student scored less than 3 on all Eng/Math tests and have taken

the tests less than 2 times.

● Senior students will retest if: Student scored less than 3 on all Eng/Math tests and have taken

the tests less than 2 times. Seniors with 15, 16, or 17 AIR points will also be tested in the area

that works best for each individual student.

Students who are slated to test, will be contacted within the next two weeks with the test they are

assigned to take and the room they will be assigned. Students who are not slated to test on the above

days will report to school 3 ½ hours later than their normal report time. The school schedule will be

adjusted accordingly; transportation and cafeteria staff will make adjustments. (As a note: students who

arrive late on December 10th and December 12th, will not receive breakfast. We will be beginning 4th

period. More information will be available as the testing schedule is finalized.

As a reminder, a passing score on the above tests are a required part of graduation. If retesting is

necessary, please be sure to encourage your student to attend, ready to test to the best of their ability.

CTE juniors assigned to test will ride their regular bus to the DT campus and catch a shuttle over to Main campus in order to test.
