Our McKinley High School/Bulldog Flash students, along with their advisor Gabriel Gonzalez, had the opportunity to meet historian and civil rights activist Mary Frances Berry this week at Kent State University Stark Campus. Berry is the former chair of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, and of the Organization of American Historians, as well as Assistant Secretary for Education under President Carter where she was an advocate for children’s rights.
