McKINLEY CAREER TECH STUDENTS COMPETE IN REGIONAL COMPETITION FOR FUTURE HEALTH PROFESSIONALS
Last weekend, students in the McKinley Exercise Science/Sports Medicine and Nursing Technologies CTE programs competed in the HOSA Mideast Regional Competition. This was the 1st time that CCSD/CTE staff and students participated!
HOSA is the Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that focuses on Future Health Professionals. This CTSO strives to develop leadership and technical skills through a program of motivation, awareness and recognition, an integral part of the Health Science Education instructional program.
Lisa Menning and Dorothy Tabellion are the CCSD/CTE advisors for HOSA and attended the event at Canton South High School with their students. CCSD/CTE students competing were Katelynn Bland, Heaven Burston, Jaida Evans, Estonia Jewell, Kenneth Koah, Jericho Mellor, Brice Newman, Marissa Petsy, Kiara Spells and Deonna Welty. Kenneth Koah (Exercise Science and Sports Medicine) qualified for the State Tournament which is held in Columbus during the month of April. We are very proud of our students for taking on a new challenge.
