ANTHONY PARKER IS A KID WHO ROCKS!
McKinley High School senior Anthony Parker is truly a kid who rocks!
Nominated by his former AP Government teacher Erik Spinelli, Radio Station 97.5 WONE awarded him a Kids Who Rock scholarship for $1,000!
Spinelli said he was nominated for many reasons, but fit the Kids Who Rock profile for his leadership, compassion, and music. Anthony and his self-made record label, Outsider Music, recently sponsored a hygiene drive for those less fortunate over the holidays. All of the proceeds went to Refuge of Hope.
From his classmates at McKinley, he collected about 90 pounds of items, including toiletries, clothing, and $50 in cash.
He credits his bandmates Dominick Aquino, Corey Sherman, and Montezes Stokes for helping with the project.
Anthony is a top student with a big heart. During the Thanksgiving season, he also organized a food drive and collected 290 pounds of food. He serves on the Canton City Youth Council and is a champion member of the McKinley Debate Team.
Because he won, he will be aired on 97.5 FM throughout early January.
