Aretha Paydock, Director of Instruction 9-12
My motto: “It’s all about kids!” I began my teaching career in Cleveland Public Schools in 1994 as a language arts teachers in grades 6-8. After receiving my masters degree, I became an assistant principal in The Elyria City schools, where after one year, I became principal. I served in the principalship for 10 years before joining the Canton City School District in 2013 as a transformation specialist.
The responsibilities in my current role include assisting the high schools in meeting their academic and non academic goals, by utilizing my leadership skills and knowledge to plan and set achievable goals that will increase student achievement as well as address non academic barriers that affect the lives of our students! Together, we will use achievement data to guide professional development as well as review systems and processes at the 3 high schools to create an improved culture and climate for the students and staff of The Canton City School District.
My goal is to work diligently with leaders and staff to create an educational atmosphere that will meet the needs of ALL students regardless of the many situations they may face outside of school!
