Degrees and Certifications:
Linnea Olbon, Director
It is my honor to serve in public education. I have been a teacher, principal, curriculum and instruction support, and now hold the role of Director of Early Childhood. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Special Education, with a license in General Education from Kent State University. Later, I graduated from the University of Akron with a Master's in Educational Administration, and earned my Superintendent's license through Ashland University. I am a proud graduate of Leadership Stark County, 21st Class. To continue my passion for teaching and learning, I served as an adjunct professor at Malone University, and teach courses through Walsh University's Communicate Institute. Most recently, I wrote two graduate courses for Malone University's new online Educational Leadership program.
I am grateful to serve as the Director of Early Childhood in the Canton City School District. Our goal is to service students and their families, by providing a welcoming, nurturing and educational foundation for our preschoolers, while assisting them in being kindergarten ready.
Education is my passion and calling. I believe that all children can learn, and that each one possesses special gifts and talents. It is our responsibility to nurture students and help them build on the strengths they have. Rita Pierson once said: "Every child deserves a champion - an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be." I couldn't agree more!
