Medical Insurance Billing & Coding

This 1,020-hour program provides the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the technical and clerical tasks to process medical insurance claims.

What You Will Learn:

Medical terminology
Medical insurance claim coding using the ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM coding standards.
Medical insurance billing.
Computer keyboarding and Microsoft Office.
Resume writing and interviewing skills.

Program Overview:

Program is scheduled Sep. - Jun., M - TH (Fridays during externship), 8:30am - 4:00pm.
Cost: $8,990. Textbooks, supplies and certification exam fees are included.
Eligible for Pell Grant funding and approved for GI Bill benefits.
At the end of the program, students will perform 163 hours of supervised, unpaid externship in a medical billing/coding facility.
Graduates sit for the Medical Insurance Billing and Coding Exam and/or the NCICS Insurance and Coding Specialist exam. Students may also sit for the CPC exam if they meet the required grade point average.
