Health Unit Coordinator

The Health Unit Coordinator Program is a 600 clock hour program emphasizing multiple skills in medical terminology, front desk managements, and computer training specific to the healthcare field and Microsoft Office.

Students are trained to provide customer service to patients, admissions, transfers, discharges and transcription orders. They are also trained to perform scheduling and clerical duties. At the end of the program, students will perform 100 unpaid, supervied externship in a medical setting.

Graduates will sit for the Health Unit Coordinator Certification Exam and will be prepared to obtain employment in a doctor's office, hospital, clinic or nursing home.
