JB Hilliard

JB Hilliard is a transactional attorney specializing in Life & Legacy Planning (including wills, trusts, and probate), Legal Consulting (including document drafting, contract review, and business planning), and Legal Coaching (assisting clients with questions on court forms and legal filing processes). JB’s background includes experience as an Accountant, as a Corporate Trainer, and as a Curriculum Development Consultant. She served eight years as an Officer in the U.S. Air Force. And after an honorable discharge from there, she moved to Atlanta and started a training and consulting company that is approaching its 29th year in business.

Fast forward 20 years after leaving the military, JB made a drastic career change and became a newly licensed attorney at the age of 50. She spent a little over a year as a real estate attorney in a boutique law firm in Atlanta before launching her own law practice in 2017.

JB is a lover of education and training, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, an MBA in Management from Webster University, a Master of Science degree with Honors in Instructional Technology from Georgia State University, and a Juris Doctor cum laude from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. She also served on the law school’s Alumni Council shortly after graduation. But her TRUE passion is educating others, whether related to legal processes or career enhancement or personal development. She continues to live out her mantra, while encouraging others, that “you are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream” (quote by C.S. Lewis).

JB has served in several professional and volunteer organizations over the years, including her beloved Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where she pledged while attending OSU. She has been a long- time member of an Advisory Committee at Georgia Piedmont Technical College, where she previously served as an adjunct professor, and she continues to mentor young people whenever she has the opportunity.

Outside of work, JB is a founding board member of a Scholarship Foundation, and she has also led several ministry teams at Victory Church in Norcross, Georgia, including serving as a Budget Coach and Workshop Lead Facilitator for 20 of the 28+ years of her active church membership there.

And YES – “JB” is her real, legal, Social Security, and check-signing name!
